About WhereItsGone

A simple, honest expense tracker for people who actually want to know.

WhereItsGone was built out of a simple frustration: most expense tracking tools are either too complicated, too expensive, or designed around selling you financial products. We wanted something straightforward — a place to log what comes in and what goes out, see it clearly, and share it with the people you share your finances with.

No subscriptions. No ads. No upsells. Just your money, tracked honestly.

What it does

📈
Track income & expenses
Log transactions with custom categories, amounts, dates and descriptions. The calculator field lets you enter expressions like =45+12.50.

Shared wallets
Invite household members or teammates to a wallet. Everyone sees the same data in real time — no refresh needed.
🌟
Custom categories
Create your own expense and income categories with custom emoji and colours — up to 50 of each per wallet.
📊
Visual breakdowns
Category bars, monthly comparisons, drill-down transaction views, and a live activity log for shared wallets.
🌐
Multi-currency
Each wallet can have its own currency symbol — useful if you manage wallets in different countries.
📱
Mobile friendly
A purpose-built mobile experience with a bottom navigation bar, swipe-up add sheet, and touch-optimised controls.

Built with

WhereItsGone is a lightweight single-page web app. The backend is Supabase — an open-source Firebase alternative built on PostgreSQL. Authentication is handled via Google OAuth. The frontend is plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — no frameworks, no build steps, no bloat.

Data is stored in your own Supabase project with row-level security policies ensuring users can only access wallets they are members of.
